Up Late Again..."With Love"

I have now completed my viewing of all 12 episodes of "With Love." The first episode just by itself was so very dreary, but I hung in there and kept watching, and by ep 6 I was doing a lot of advising/coaching/complaining at the screen and some occasional squealing. One time I called a character a not very nice name.

Take-away quote from this: "Not everyone has the opportunity to live life the way they want to. Most people endure it."

Amen to that, she says, surrounded by Christmas decorations waiting to be boxed, dwindling groceries, and uneasy twinges toward an early work meeting. Wallflowers make odd middle managers is all I can say.

It elicited the very same reaction from me. It's the fact that the characters are, for the most part, written like real people that make mistakes and are reluctant to move out of self-imposed restrictions, that made me react that way. Was Yoshida (female lead's suitor) the character you insulted? I hated him, despite the show's every effort to make the audience sympathetic to him. He's a perfect example of a toxic Nice Guy.

What did you think of the ending?

I've developed this complicated system of dealing with work that I don't want to do by putting in breaks and rewards and preset rules about what-must-get-done. Was the early morning meeting this morning and was it what made you anxious?

Hee, I called Yoshida a lying sack of manure. Nice guy, nothing. I was waiting for him to pull out a gun and go postal. When Amane went along with the Paris plan, I had words with her, too. One aspect of the end I liked, the fact that the leads were continuing their relationship while pursuing opportunities that were probably in their best interests, trusting the strength of their relationship thus far to carry them through until they could physically reunite. However, that part where they were reciting to each other every email they'd sent I found utterly silly.

Work is not fun right now. My boss is out of state, and I'm getting flack from every end with no buffer. Incidentally, blowing my fuse as an expedient means to an end doesn't help a whole lot.

That being said, I got your messages right before I left for the day, which effectively chucked the bad mood for me. Thank you for being timely :)

Oh, yes, he was, but he was a fully-realized one. :D The writers did a good job writing him. Amane's choice seemed to come from a place of immaturity, but even so it was very odd. Yes, that part really is silly...pretty much a shortcut to save time in the story, which was also odd, after all the time they'd spent on it so far.

Oh, I'm sorry. That does not sound fun. Is it okay if I send up a prayer or two? I'm glad I was able to lighten the day for you!
